Privacy
What Bannerfold keeps, and for how long.
No accounts, no tracking cookies
There are no accounts, no email sign-up, no analytics services, no tracking cookies and no outside fonts. The only thing the pages load from another site is the banner ad on the home page, How it works and Pricing, from adengine.us (see Advertising); its script also counts one page view per page, kept only as a daily total. The home page sets no cookie.
Advertising
The home page, How it works and Pricing show one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind Bannerfold. For now the ads are for WeldonPC’s own services. The ad is not a sponsorship and has nothing to do with any team or its sponsors. The Goal Planner, Start a Sponsor Book, the sample book and its printables, your Sponsor Book and its printables, this page, Terms and error pages never show an ad.
To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your internet address, your browser type and the address of this site with those requests.
- No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
- How your internet address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your internet address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC’s own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
- What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (internet address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
- Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy.
- Nothing about you is sold or shared. The ad request names only this site and the banner size: your book, its tiers and the businesses in it never leave Bannerfold.
A Sponsor Book
A book stores what you type into it: a team label (age group and sport), a season, a goal, what the money pays for, its tiers, and the names of the businesses you ask with their status, amounts and ticks. It does not store anyone’s contact details: those fields refuse email addresses, phone numbers and web addresses. Never type a child’s or any person’s name.
The book’s link is its only key. The database keeps a one-way fingerprint (SHA-256) of the key, not the key itself, so we cannot look up or send you a lost link. Anyone you give the link to can open and change the book.
You can delete a book at any time from its page. A book that is not opened for 400 days is deleted automatically. Every database copy Bannerfold makes, nightly or at an update, is deleted after 14 days, so a deleted book is gone from them within 14 days too. Separately, the hosting server’s own whole-server backups (kept so the machine can be rebuilt after a failure) may hold an older copy for longer; they are never used to read or share a book.
Forms and abuse limits
Forms that change a book use a security cookie (CSRF) that only proves the form came from this site; it holds nothing about you. To stop abuse, the number of new books per day is counted per internet address or network, stored only as a salted one-way hash, and those counters are deleted within three days. Server logs at the host record requests as any web server does.
In your browser
The site keeps nothing in your browser’s storage. The Copy button only copies your book link to your clipboard.
Payments
Payments are not open yet (preview). When they open, PayPal will handle them; Bannerfold will store only the subscription reference and its paid-until date, never card details.
